Indonesia : INDOSAT to create SB ISAT, with SoftBank

A deal has been inked by Indonesian telecommunications firm Indosat with Japanese operator SoftBank to create SB ISAT, a USD 50 million venture capital fund targeting Indonesian startups.

It is stated by Indosat president and CEO Alexander Rusli that the company, along with SoftBank would be offering commercial, infrastructure and strategic support to promising Indonesian technology companies.

Lately, Indosat has introduced Ideabox, a start-up acceleration program, which would offer financing to 3-5 mobile app start-ups every six months.
