Fox, 8 ET/PT

If you're tired of TV talent shows, well, you have good reason to be. There are too many of them, most of which focus on the judges at the expense of a crop of contestants for whom the word "talent" is generally a stretch. Yet when they're at their best, they can be incredibly entertaining, which is where So You Think You Can Dance comes in. It boasts the best host in Cat Deeley; a set of judges who give sensible, constructive critiques; a wide-ranging mix of choreography and music; and contestants who are often stunningly talented. Given the realities of dance in America, the show is not designed to create breakout stars. World Music Awards NBC, 8 ET/PT

NBC has TV's latest music awards show, this one designed to salute best-selling artists worldwide. Broadcast from Monte Carlo, the show is set to feature performances by Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Jason Derulo, Fall Out Boy and Flo Rida, along with a host of international stars.

Motive ABC, 10 ET/PT

The detectives on this ABC summer import investigate a home invasion. Jennifer Beals guests, which for some will be incentive enough to watch.
