Software Monitors and Detects Safety-Related Issues

SafeGuard Sentinel safety-monitoring software helps prevent safety incidents, environmental infractions, and downtime. It continuously measures, monitors, and alerts operators to process safety risks, and offers contingency plans that can be executed quickly to address issues. By comparing the real-time measured risk level with the designed level of risk, the software provides quantitative metrics that show changes in risk over time. SafeGuard Sentinel runs on a Windows-based server on a plant network, and can be accessed by any device capable of running a browser, including distributed control system (DCS) workstations, operator terminals, tablets, and smartphones. The SafeGuard Sentinel server can gather information from a variety of systems, such as DCSs, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and programmable automation controllers (PACs).

Usar Interface is Streamlined for an Enhanced Mobile Experience

A new user interface design, as well as several new tools, have been added to this company's cloud-based chemical management software. While the familiar layout of the application remains the same, users will find a cleaner design, greater functionality, and a more consistent experience across PCs, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. The online solution gives users access to a full suite of critical chemical information on the devices they use every day. Safety data sheets, label information, personal protective equipment (PPE) information, and regulatory lists can all be accessed on demand.

Newest Version of Supply Chain Software Integrates Planning and Scheduling

Version 8.5 of the aspenONE manufacturing and supply chain software includes Process Explorer, which offers visualization and analysis of plant operations data. It also features PIMS Platinum, a web-based flowsheet environment that enables users to view the refinery plan and schedule side-by-side and resolve discrepancies easily. Process Explorer and PIMS Platinum are both built on the HTML5-based aspenONE web and mobile architecture, which provides a user-friendly interface with intelligent search and secure access from any web browser on a desktop, laptop, or tablet. New Petroleum Scheduler software allows integrated refinery and dock scheduling; this minimizes losses from demurrage, reblending, and product downgrades.

Data-Collection App Provides Environmental, Health, and Safety Support

The dynaQ app enables real-time data collection using tablets and smartphones. DynaQ enhances environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management activities through modules such as assessment and auditing, task management, document management, and training tracking. The app features a wide range of tools for risk management, compliance auditing, asset and inventory management, program and project management support, and human performance reliability assessments. Users can standardize the data collection process, reduce redundancy, and shorten cycle times. An Internet connection is not required to access and use the app, which is especially valuable in remote locations with inconsistent connectivity. Data are automatically synchronized when a connection is made.
