? CHOICE Sir Kenneth Clark: Portrait of a Civilised Man BBC2, 7pm

Patron, collector, art historian and broadcaster Sir Kenneth Clark is perhaps best known to many for his 1969 documentary series Civilisation. Already Keeper of the Ashmolean Museum in his twenties, he was Director of the National Gallery by 30 and, as one contributor observes, went on to "occupy every key cultural post going". This illuminating profile, comissioned to coincide with the current Kenneth Clark - Looking for Civilisation exhibition at the Tate Britain, examines the life of the man attacked for being elitist, but who was in fact one of the greatest democratisers of art and culture this country has ever seen.
