Khurram urged for regional integration, connectivity for economic stability

Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan on Thursday urged for regional connectivity and trade integration for the economic development and prosperity of the region.

He called upon the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to play its roll for the connectivity and economic integration to promote trade and economic activities for development and prosperity of the region.

While, addressing to the regional conference on cooperation in energy sectors between SAARC regional countries and Central Asia, Khurram Dastgir Khan said that "we need to cooperate in energy, banking, communication sector for regional connectivity and enhance the trade cooperation between all regional countries.

Federal Minister urged for regional cooperation to meet the increasing energy demands, adding that in coming three decades energy infrastructure would be totally changed.

He said that the dimension of regional policy to be changed in future because of cooperation in the energy sector and integrated approach between the regional countries.

Khurram Dastgir said that peace in the Afghanistan is vital to enhance regional trade and cooperation economic stability of whole region.

He added that Pakistan has believed in peaceful and stable Afghanistan, which is necessary to maintain peace and stability in all region.

The Minister said that the government was following the medium and long term strategies to meet the challenges of energy in the country and regional cooperation would also considered to resolved the energy crisis.

He said the government want to enhance the regional trade and that would mutually benefitted the all regional countries for their economic stability.
