Dairy Crest milks profits

DAIRY Crest yesterday reported a 31 per cent rise in pre-tax full-year profits to 65.3m, buoyed by a strong performance by its Cathedral City cheese.


However, Mark Allen, the chief executive of Britain's largest dairy firm, warned that profits might be hit by rising milk costs. Shares closed down 32.10p at 427.9p.
