Also on display will be recently introduced laboratory solutions including Thermo Scientific general purpose centrifuges, customized Thermo Scientific KingFisher Pure Kits for high-yield DNA and RNA purification and the Life Technologies Ion Personal Genome Machine (PGM) System, the benchtop next-generation sequencing (NGS) instrument that enables long, accurate reads of microbial DNA.

Thermo Fisher will also host a talk, Microbial Identification Using 16s rRNA Sequence from the Ion Torrent PGM, by George S. Watts, Ph.D., co-director of the Arizona Cancer Center, who will provide an overview of 16s rRNA sequencing on the Ion PGM, on Tuesday, May 20th from 12-12:45 pm in the Exhibit Hall (booth #1438).
