May 20--La Crosse's weeklong charrette planning session will culminate tonight with the reveal of detailed site concepts for potentially developing the city-owned Riverside North property.
The final public meeting will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts, 322 S. Front St.
The consultant team, with the aid of the city Planning Department and the Redevelopment Authority, will show what grew out of the meetings and feedback sessions since the charrette officially kicked off Wednesday. The same group will continue to refine those plans in coming months before sending their report to the Common Council later this year.
Riverside North includes the 25-acre Exxon-Mobil property, 8-acre Wisconsin Redi Mix site, 11-acre Patros Steel property, 5 acres of former railroad right-of-way and a 15-acre pond. About half of the 65 acres is in the floodway and cannot be developed.
