'Wonderful grandmother' dies in car crash

THE family of a woman who died after a two-car crash have paid tribute to a "wonderful wife, mother and grandmother".

Susan Crossan, 55, suffered serious injuries in a collision between her Ford Fiesta and a Volkswagen Beetle on Aberdeen'sSouth Deeside Road at about 5.30pm on Wednesday.

She was taken to the city's Royal Infirmary, where she died in the early hours of yesterday.

Mrs Crossan, from Aberdeen, was head teacher at the city's Culter primary school.

In a statement released through police, her husband Finlay, 58, a lawyer, said: "Susan loved teaching and had been a teacher since 1979 with a break to raise our sons.

"She was passionate about children's development, which drove her to become a head teacher.

"Susan also loved going to music concerts and followed Aberdeen Football Club.
