Fahey targets Musselburgh

May 2, 2014

Richard Fahey saddles three runners at Musselburgh today when his Musley Bank yard is represented in both feature races at the East Lothian venue.

Ventura Quest faces just three rivals, Jamie Spencer-ridden Yenhaab, Master Of Finance and Frankthetank, in the Weatherbys Private Banking Handicap.

"This horse ran well in a valuable race at Musselburgh on Good Friday and he should be suited by the extra furlong," said Fahey.

The Malton trainer also has Majestic Moon in the pound(s)12,000 Weatherbys Bank Handicap over 7f and he added: "He was favourite over course and distance last time but they went a crazy pace and flat out like it was a 5f sprint. He practically walked home in the final furlong and finished ninth so you can forget that run."

The race has attracted seven runners including previous course and distance scorers Silver Rime, Powerful Presence and Just Paul. Fahey's first representative on the card is newcomer Winstanley in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes, a race he won last year with Withernsea.
