May 2, 2014

By Barry Adams, The Wisconsin State Journal

May 02--Marcus Theatres officials said Friday that the company will break ground May 14 on a state-of-the-art, 12-screen theater in Sun Prairie.

Located next to Costco in the Prairie Lakes development at Highway 151 and Highway C, the Palace Cinema at Prairie Lakes will include an UltraScreen DLX theater that combines a 64-foot-wide, three-story-high UltraScreen with Dolby Atmos audio. The complex, on 11.6 acres, will also include four Big Screen Bistro auditoriums, a Zaffiro's Express and a Take Five Lounge.

Construction of the 100,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to be completed in time for the holiday movie season. Marcus also owns the nearby Eastgate Cinemas, 5202 High Crossing Blvd., in Madison, but the future of that property has not been determined, according to the company.

In 2008, Marcus announced plans for a similar facility at Nelson Road and Highway 151 but the project was never developed.
