Guide to Ames summer music series 2014

May 19--SUMMER MUSIC 2014: Bookends -- Carillon -- Farmers' Market -- Half Shell -- Municipal Band -- Roosevelt

A new season of outdoor music is upon us.

In the first week of June, all of Ames' summer music series will have started. The Main Street Farmers' Market and its local music performances have already begun.

The other series -- Ames on the Half Shell, Bookends at the Bandshell, Ames Municipal Band and Roosevelt Summer Sundays -- all begin in the next few weeks with their own lineups and vibes for concert-goers.

Here is the lineup for all the music concert series in Ames this summer. Check out each series' specific page for more details.

(This doesn't include one- or two-day events like Summerfest in Campustown, the Fourth of July celebrations, ArtWalk or MusicWalk, which will be all listed and detailed next Sunday.)

Bookends at the Bandshell, 11:30 a.m. Fridays, 6 p.m. select Sundays, Bandshell Park, free

Carillon Concert Series, 7 p.m. on select Tuesdays, ISU central campus, free

Main Street Farmer's Market, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, 300 and 400 blocks of Main Street, free

Ames on the Half Shell, 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays at Bandshell Park, $4, anyone under 21 must be accompanied by an adult, children 11 and under are free

Ames Municipal Band, 8 p.m. Thursdays, Bandshell Park, free

Roosevelt Summer Sundays, 7 p.m. Sundays, Roosevelt Park, free
