Investments in fixed assets in food industry to reach 97 bn tenge by 2019: Ministry of Agriculture

The Development of the Food Industry in Kazakhstan in 2015-2019 state program will enable to increase volume of investments in fixed assets in the food and processing industry up to 97 billion tenge by 2019, the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported citing the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture.

The volume of food production will increase in Kazakhstan by 30% up to 1.3 trillion tenge. It is also planned to reduce food imports 3 times to 1.3 billion tenge.

The number of people employed in the food industry will increase to 68 thousand people, while at present there are 52 thousand people employed in the industry.

The foreign trade turnover of processed agricultural products and food products amounted to 4.2 billion tenge in 2013.
