Governor Scott Walker Congratulates 'Big Apple Giveaway' Winner Promotion Between Edvest and Green Bay Packers

MADISON, Wis., May 14 -- Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis., issued the following news release:

Governor Scott Walker congratulates Regan Carter, Waukesha, winner of the "Big Apple Giveaway" contest. The Big Apple Giveaway Grand Prize included a $10,529 Edvest college savings account, a trip for four to New York City to announce the Packers fourth round 2014 NFL Draft pick from the Packers team table on the floor of Radio City Music Hall, and four Green Bay Packers jerseys. Four runner-up winners each received a $100Green Bay Packers Pro Shop gift card.

"With two sons in college, I know how important it is to start saving early, so you're ready when the time comes to pay the tuition bill," Governor Walker said. "Congratulations to Regan and all of the winners, a big thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, and guardians, who are using Edvest to invest in the education of our future leaders."

The Carter family wore their Packers jerseys while waiting to share the team's selection on the national telecast. The Packers opted for linebacker Carl Bradford from Arizona State University as their fourth round choice, the 121st pick overall.
