May 15--See human cannonball Dale Thomsen get shot out of the world's largest cannon and fly across the Big Top of Cole Bros. Circus, coming to Phillipsburg Mall Monday and Tuesday.

The traveling circus, started by W.W. Cole 1884, features aerialists performing ballet in mid-air, giant Asian elephants rising up on their hind legs at the command of a trainer and motorcyclists risking death as they race around at top speed in the ThunderDrome globe.

The 2014 Edition of Cole Bros. Circus celebrates 130 years of circus history with a show reprising legendary circus acts of the past along with featuring the talents of cirque nouveau artists. In Mexico's Angels in the Air performance, trapeze artists soar high above the track and Lana & Company presents a unique act of a mother-son hand-balancing duo.

The Fassio family entertains with its troupe of trained dogs and Vincenta Pages puts a half dozen Bengal tigers through their paces.

The zany Cole Bros. Clown Crew provides comic relief and ringmaster Chris Connors directs the show.

Shows are 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Phillipsburg Mall. Tickets are $16, $20 and $23. A coupon admitting up to two children, age 12 and under, free with each adult is available at http://www.gotothecircus.com.
