Bukhara hosts exhibition devoted to French-Uzbek cooperation in archeology

An exhibition devoted to 25 years of the French-Uzbek cooperation in archeology and heritage conservation is held in the Museum of Fine Arts of Bukhara and will continue until 7 June.

It was prepared by the Embassy of France and previously presented in Samarkand.

The opening ceremony was attended by representative of the Department for Cultural Affairs and Sport of Bukhara region Ulmas Rashidov, Director of the Bukhara State Architectural and Art Museum-Preserve Abdurashit Zikrillayev, Advisor for Culture and Cooperation of the French Embassy Olivier Guillaume, Director of the Islamic Art Department at Louvre Yannick Lintz and French archaeologists.

A Louvre delegation visited the State Art Museum of Uzbekistan in Tashkent and studied the applied arts of Uzbekistan.

Prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two museums were considered. Possible exhibition of Uzbekistan's art in Louvre in 2018 was discussed as well.
