Swiss performer 'Cicoff' shares gospel through artistic expression

May 14--Every man is an artist in a certain aspect of his life, but for Cicoff "The Jester," his art is in juggling and presenting the gospel. Don't let his nickname "The Jester" fool you as his presentation will stir up laughter, but his message is swift and powerful. Cicoff will be performing his art and giving his message Sunday morning at the Newton Foursquare Church.

Cicoff's website describes his performance as "high-energy and entertaining presentations are a perfect blend of instruction, insight and artistic expression that will leave the audience with an unforgettable experience."

An artist's work couldn't be done without his tools. Cicoff has a multitude of tools to leave audiences stunned and mesmerized.

"He uses the tools of physical theater, storytelling, juggling and comedy to support his compelling and powerful messages," states on his website at

The passion behind Cicoff "The Jester" is his purpose for performing for audiences.

"Cicoff is firmly convinced that it is vitally important for young people to develop positive character traits like self-discipline, obedience, respect, perseverance and responsibility. Cicoff uses his skills as a jester to motivate and encourage his audience to pursue their goals and reach their fullest potential," states his website as his purpose of performing.

"Cicoff performs for schools and churches across the country. During his performance, he goes through a transformation with his message at schools. His goal is to bring stories to life. Basic principles are addressed in a fresh and innovative way. As he communicates his message of fundamental values, students are mesmerized and challenged and educators are inspired. At churches his goal is to effectively use the arts to edify the church and win the lost. He clearly illustrates the gospel in a fresh and creative way that ministers to people of all ages."

Cicoff "The Jester" is the stage name of Christoph Zurcher. He was born in Switzerland. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from BSH, Zurich, Switzerland, an associate of arts degree in biblical studies from The Centre' Conservatory of Ministering Arts, St. Louis, Mo., and is a licensed Foursquare minister.

He has received training in drama, mime, juggling, and dance in Switzerland, Holland and the U.S. Since 1995, he has performed at schools, conferences, corporate functions, churches and festivals throughout Europe and the U.S. Christoph currently resides in St. Louis, Mo., with his wife and two children.
