Sugon to R&D Supercomputer 7000

BEIJING, May 14, SinoCast -- Sugon Information Industry will start to research and develop supercomputer 7000 with system peak value of 100 petaflops per second following the "Nebula" high-performance computer with system peak value of 3 petaflops.

Founded in 1995 and growing out of the Institute of Computing, CAS, the company has launched China's first supercomputers with system peak value of above megaflops and petaflops. Through years of accumulation, the company has become an international leader in high-performance computers and is gradually moving toward a "cloud computing service provider" from a "hardware provider". Up to now, the company has built and run seven urban cloud computing centers, the "Nebula" high-performance computer is serving at the Shenzhen supercomputer center and is mainly used in scientific computing, intelligent Internet search and gene sequencing.

President Li Jun said supercomputer 7000 is a new-generation supercomputer system designed by the company to meet the future market demands, will fully adopt self-developed technologies from the processor, high-speed communication network, large-scale storage system, system software to application software, and is expected to lead the world by the performance, efficiency, technology and application level and march into the international market.
