PRESS: ECB Readies Package Of Rate Cuts, Lending Measures - Reuters

May 14, 2014

LONDON (Alliance News) - The European Central Bank is preparing to cut all of its interest rates at its next policy meeting in June, in an attempt to bring down the euro exchange rate and boost the economy, according to a report by Reuters.

The central bank is also looking at a range of targeted measures aimed at boosting lending to small and mid sized firms, Reuters reports.

Citing five people familiar with the matter, the report says that a June rate cut is "more or less a done deal".

The report comes after ECB President Mario Draghi said last week that the ECB Governing Council was "comfortable with acting next time", but wanted to wait for the bank's updated economic projections first.
