May 14--DANVILLE -- The North Ridge Middle School Theatre Company will present Xanadu Jr. on Thursday and Friday nights.

The show will start at 7 p.m. both Thursday and Friday, in the new North Ridge Middle School cafetorium, according to a press release. The show will last about 90 minutes. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults.

Tickets will be available at the door. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The show is set in 1980 and the magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira (played by Lizzy Lerner), descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, Calif., on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny (played by Carter Mallady), as he strives to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time -- the first roller disco. But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.

This hilarious, roller skating, musical adventure about following one's dreams rolls along with a hit score that includes "Magic," "All Over The World," "Suddenly," "I'm Alive," "Evil Woman" and "Xanadu," just to name a few.

The roller skating cast, led by Lerner and Mallady, also includes members of the award-winning North Ridge show choirs, the Redcoats and Radiant Reds, and features Johnny Lewis as Danny, and Lauren Davis, Lauren Ellis, Madison Hall, Emmalee Hoskins, Amy Mills, Alexis Nichols, Molly Smith and Makenna Weddle as Kira's Muse sisters.

The story is told in part by a large Greek chorus that includes The Andrews Sisters -- Kayla Potter, Kaylynn Wagers and Emily Whitman; The Tubes -- Tim Mills, Jake Owen, Brady Riley, Rylan Spangler and Easton Towne; The Sirens -- Alaina Allee, Kennedy Hall, Jadyn Puckett and CeCe Strader; The Gods -- Madison Thompson as Aphrodite, Aubrey Williams as Hera, Brittnie Mason as Thetis, Sam Norton as Hermes and Jake Knight as Zeus; and Olivia Beyer, Maranda DePratt, Hailey Krynski, Audrey Julian, Allison Lane, Treniti Smith, Abby Spicer and Aleana Wilson.

The show is produced and directed by David and Jennifer Woodrow and choreographed by Merrit Spicer.
