The May 19 show is the first time "American Idiot" will be performed at the local theater, Dinkel said. The musical most recently showed at the Pantages Theatre from May 13-18.

"I would say if you love Green Day's music, you really don't want to miss it," Dinkel said.

The show is about two hours long with intermission.

"American Idiot" debuted on Broadway in New York on April 20, 2010, after a short run at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in 2009. It has since won several awards inlcuding two Tony Awards in 2010 and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album on Feb. 13, 2011.
