BRIEF: DAR to celebrate 100th anniversary at event

May 14--WENATCHEE -- The John Kendrick Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will celebrate the organization's 100th anniversary during an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 127 S. Mission St.

A flag ceremony and opening DAR ritual will take place at 2:30 p.m.

The John Kendrick Chapter is comprised of women veterans, educators, business professionals, retirees and homemakers. Seventy women from the Wenatchee Valley, Omak, Quincy, Leavenworth and Ephrata, ranging in age from 18 to over 80, share a bond of tracing their heritage to a patriot of the American Revolution, and provide more 5,000 volunteer hours to local communities.
