May 14--More than 1,600 students from 18 schools are expected to attend the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre's "Afternoon With the Arts," which will feature "Peter and the Wolf."
It will be performed at 12:30 p.m.May 15 at Memorial Auditorium in collaboration with the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra. The performance is funded by the Priddy Foundation.
In addition to the performance, The Yellowstone National Park Wolf Project will send representative Kira Quimby to discuss the importance of wild wolves to the ecosystem, thanks to the Perkins-Prothro Foundation. Wichitan Kay Yeager chairs this initiative.
"The collaborations with both the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra and Yellowstone National Park'sWolf Project make this year's 'Afternoon with the Arts' even more inspiring and educational," said SueAnn Altman, president of WFBT. "We are thrilled to work with both organizations, and grateful to the Priddy and Perkins-Prothro foundations for their generous dedication to our youth, making these events possible."
