BRIEF: Sweet Tea Shakespeare theater to present two comedies this summer

May 13--The Sweet Tea Shakespeare theater company will present two comedies this summer at the 1897 Poe House on the grounds of the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex in Fayetteville.

"Love's Labour's Lost" will be performed June 18-22 and "The Taming of the Shrew" from July 16-20. Each performance will start at 7 p.m.

Performances will be outdoors and preceded by a half-hour of live music and other entertainment. Audience members must bring their own seats and bug spray. Picnic-style food and drink, including beer and wine, will be available. Outside food isn't allowed.

Tickets will cost $12 for general admission, $10 for senior citizens and people with military IDs, $7.50 for most students and $5 for FSU students and children aged 6-12. Children under age 5 will be admitted free.

Sweet Tea Shakespeare is a project of Fayetteville State University and the FSU Friends of the Arts. The project aims to perform classic plays in beautiful environments with family-style flair. The Poe Hosue is at 206 Bradford Ave.
