May 11--Along with plants and flowers, Cape Fear Botanical Garden is in bloom with music this spring.
The outdoor spring concert series starts Friday and continues through June. A fall concert series, featuring the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, begins in September.
Meg Suraci, director of marketing for the garden, said this is the third year for the concert series. She said audiences usually number 200 to 300.
"They are held rain or shine," Suraci said. "In the case of rain, we will move the concert into the orangery if need be."
The first concert, scheduled Friday, May 16 at 6 p.m., is for members only. However, guests are welcome to become members at that time, and members can bring guests.
