The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average went down 33.48 points, or 0.23 percent, from Thursday to 14,451.65. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 1.26 points, or 0.11 percent, to 1,180.94.
