Music Under the Stars lineup includes 2 Grammy winners

May 01--This season's Music Under the Stars Concert Series will get under way in June with a variety of artists, including two Grammy Award winners, officials announced Thursday.

Los Lonely Boys, who won a 2005 Grammy Award, and La Santa Cecilia, a 2013 Latin Grammy Award winner, highlight the lineup for this year's popular concert series, which is celebrating its 31st season. The free concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evenings, June 8 through Aug. 10, at the Chamizal National Memorial, 800 S San Marcial.

In addition to this year's schedule, in place of a concert on July 6, a special event with patriotic music and fireworks will take place July 4, starting at 7 p.m.

The series, which annually draws close to 60,000 attendees, will end with the traditional mariachi concert.

Here is this season's lineup:

--June 8: La Santa Cecilia, Latin

--June 15: The Iveys, pop

--June 22: Sha'vonne, variety

--June 29: Son Ardiente, Latin

--July 4: Firework Spectacular with El Paso Wind Symphony, patriotic

--July 13: Trailer Band, country

--July 20: Los Lonely Boys, rock

--July 27: Sobredosis Del Sabor, Latin

--Aug. 3: Joshua Tree, U2 tribute band

--Aug. 10: Son de Mexico, mariachi

A shuttle will be available for patrons parking at the El Paso Zoo from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Grills will be allowed, but smoking, glass containers and pets are not. Food and beverages will be on sale at the concerts.

The series is sponsored by the City of El Paso Museums & Cultural Affairs Department, in collaboration with the National Park Service at the Chamizal National Memorial and GECU.
