Netronome Experts Discuss SDN at the Ethernet Tech Summit

April 30, 2014

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Netronome, the leading provider of data plane processing solutions for software-defined networks (SDN), today announced that two of their industry experts will be chairing sessions at the Ethernet Technology Summit. Netronome’s senior vice president of engineering Jim Finnegan will chair the “Open Source Switching Seminar.” Nabil Damouny, senior director of strategic marketing at Netronome, will also participate and chair, “Ethernet and Software-Defined Networking,” during the Emerging Technologies Track today.

“As networks continue to advance and their architectures transform, there is an increasing demand for programmable products based on open, standard software and hardware specifications,” said Damouny. “Jim and I look forward to leading sessions addressing how open platforms can be used for intelligent control points in SDN and NFV designs that include cybersecurity, gateway applications, load-balancing and analytics.”

Jim’s panel will focus on the impact of open source switching on the markets, technology and standards; and how open source switching fits with OCP, open standards and SDN. Nabil’s panel will engage distinguished industry experts on the promise of SDN and NFV. In addition to being recognized as an industry expert, Nabil is the Rapporteur of the Compute-Storage Domain at ETSI NFV, as well as Vice Chair of the Marketing Committee for the Open Networking Foundation.

The Ethernet Technology Summit takes place April 29 through May 1 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. More information can be found at http://www.ethernetsummit.com/.
