SolomonEdwards Houston Promotes Tariq Zia to Director of Business Advisory

PHILADELPHIA & HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SolomonEdwards, a national professional services firm, is pleased to announce that Tariq Zia has been promoted to Director of Business Advisory within Houston’s SEC Reporting practice.

Tariq, a Texas-based Certified Public Accountant, joined SolomonEdwards in 2009 as a Senior Manager. As newly appointed Director, Tariq will take on more responsibilities in selling and managing projects in the Houston market.

In addition to his role at SolomonEdwards, Tariq currently serves as Senior Advisor to a global supplier of drilling and production related products and services. He also teaches accounting courses which cover topics like Introduction to US GAAP & GAAS, Convergence of IFRS with US GAAP and Accounting for Oil & Gas Operations in US GAAP and IFRS. Prior to joining SolomonEdwards, Tariq was a Senior Manager of Audit at KPMG and other Big Four companies for 14 years where he specialized in SEC Reporting, IFRS, Technical Accounting, Financial and Strategic Planning and Statutory Financial Reporting Standards. Tariq began his career at Deloitte & Touche in Houston. He earned both a B.B.A in Accounting and M.P.A. from the University of Texas at Austin with highest honors.
