Hungary's Magyar Telekom tests next stage of LTE network development

Hungary's incumbent telecommunication company Magyar Telekom has successfully completed tests of LTE-Advanced technology, which represents the next stage of current 4G/LTE network development, the company informed in a statement.

The test, which has been conducted in partnership with Ericsson, made Magyar Telekom the first company to introduce LTE-Advanced on the local market. The technology enables the operators to increase network capacity providing for 1Gbps data transfers rates.

LTE-Advanced is able to serve increasingly higher data speeds and capacities through the aggregation of frequency bands.
