United Arab Emirates : HBL BANK appoints AHMED FAROOQ as new Head of Retail Banking for Gulf region

HBL Bank has announced appointment of Ahmed Farooq as its new Head of Retail Banking Gulf, facilitating its growth strategy. At present, HBL operates seven branches across the UAE.

Ahmed Farooq will be responsible to spearhead growth for the retail business all over the Gulf Region. Earlier, he served as Head of Retail & SME - HBL, Oman.

Farooq, as a commercial banker with huge experience in institutional and retail banking across the Middle East and Asia, was instrumental towards the roll out of retail products as a founding member of Noor Bank. Farooq has also worked on senior positions with a variety of multinational financial institutions, including Al Rajhi Bank and Standard Chartered.

Abbas Hasan, Regional General Manager - Gulf at HBL said, We are pleased that Farooq has taken up this important role. He brings with him more than 22 years of expertise in the financial services industry, with rich experience in strategic planning, operating businesses, managing change, product development and project management. All of these attributes will be vital to HBL moving forward.
