SolidFire Gets Verification for Citrix Ready VDI Capacity Program

April 29, 2014

SolidFire, a provider of all-flash storage systems built for the Next Generation Data Center, announced that its scale-out storage platform has been verified as part of the Citrix Ready VDI Capacity Program Verified for Citrix XenDesktop.

According to a release, with this announcement, customers can select SolidFire for their XenDesktop VDI deployment with the assurance their implementation will meet their current and future needs.

The Citrix Ready VDI Capacity program is designed specifically to address the storage needs of customers implementing VDI using XenDesktop, the company said. The program enables Citrix storage partners to test their solutions against a turnkey "VDI Capacity" test environment. Partners whose technology satisfies the test criteria are determined to be verified as part of the Citrix Ready VDI Capacity Program Verified for 750 users.

"SolidFire has successfully completed the testing requirements to join the Citrix Ready VDI Capacity program," said Greg Fox, director, Citrix Ready program at Citrix. "Through this program, we are working with our storage partners to help provide our joint customers with guidance in choosing storage solutions for their XenDesktop VDI deployments. By taking part in the program, SolidFire is simplifying the purchase selection process for their customers, while maintaining the highest quality user experience."

"With density of 1000 desktops per 1U, capital cost of less than $50 per desktop and the ability to dynamically adjust storage resources on the fly, SolidFire is effectively changing the economics of the storage infrastructure in large-scale VDI deployments without compromising user experience," said SolidFire's Director of Strategic Alliances, Dave Cahill. "This Citrix Ready verification further demonstrates our plans to work closely with trusted partners in order to provide the highest quality experience for our joint customers."
