Botswana : AFRICAN COPPER boosts copper production

AIM listed copper explorer and producer that operates in Botswana, African Copper PLC's whole year copper production rose in its fourth quarter and full year in spite of a drop in ore processed during the period caused by breakdowns and weather constraints.

The company said its production of saleable copper concentrate rose 4.8% to 9.95 billion tonnes for the full year ended March 31 from 9.50 billion tonnes the year ago.

It added that copper produced in concentrates during its Q4 grew 3.5% on the year ago to 2.52 billion tonnes from 2.43 billion tonnes.
