Feb. 07--An affiliate of PSP Capital Partners, the investment firm founded by U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, has bought E.B. Bradley Co., a West Coast distributor of specialty hardware and surfacing products, for an undisclosed sum.
The seller was Evanston-based private equity firm Industrial Opportunity Partners, which acquired the company in 2009. The company was family-owned until then.
E.B. Bradley represents PSP's first acquisition since Pritzker stepped away from the investment company to run the Commerce Department.
Kevin Poorman, an attorney and longtime Pritzker adviser, now leads the firm. Poorman also is a founding board member of the Barack H. Obama Foundation, which will plan and raise money for Obama's presidential library and museum.
