UBL to provide online payment solutions to IBA, Karachi

The Institute of Business Administration Karachi (IBA), one of Pakistan's leading business schools, in collaboration with United Bank Limited (UBL), one of the country's largest banks, has set up a state of the art online payment service. This service will enable people from Pakistan and abroad to pay their fees, dues and donations to IBA through a credit card (Visa/Master Card) or a debit card with the assistance of UBL. This service is part of UBL's cutting edge UBL Go-Green Internet Merchant Acquiring Platform which was launched recently. It is also the first 3D Secure Internet based payment mechanism to be introduced in Pakistan . Currently, no other bank in Pakistan is providing this service. The launch of the collaboration between UBL and IBA took place at IBA's Main Campus at Karachi University on Monday, January 27, 2014 . Mr. Ali Hasnain , Head of Retail Bank , UBL and Dr. Ishrat Husain , Dean & Director IBA, as well as several senior executives from both organizations were present at the event. On the occasion, Dr. Ishrat Husain said, "The launch of the online payment system through UBL is not only a monumental achievement on part of both the institutions but also the need of the hour. With IBA Alumni spread all over the world, this facility will prove to be an effective tool to bring in much needed donations and further the cause of education at IBA." While appreciating the modern technology, Dr. Ishrat stated that online disbursement of fees and dues will introduce students and their parents to an efficient and hassle-free mode of payment. Mr. Ali Hasnain added "UBL has always supported and promoted education and promotes avenues through which a wider access to education can be provided. Collaborating with IBA in this project is just another accomplishment both organizations have achieved together. Through this alliance, we will enable parents/students to pay any kind of fees with unmatched ease and convenience not just in Pakistan but throughout the world."
