February 6, 2014

Emprog ThunderBench C/C++ development tool suite, along with its ecosystem, is now available with full support for the Texas Instruments (TI) Tiva C SeriesTM4C129x ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller (MCU) product families.

According to a release, the Tiva TM4C129x MCUs are ARM Cortex-M4- based MCUs with Ethernet MAC+PHY, enabling customers to create a new class of highly connected products that bridge the cloud and amplify the ever-growing Internet of Things (IoT).

The Company noted that Emprog ThunderBench is a complete C/C++ software development tool, which offers customers all that they need to complete their Tiva C Series TM4C129x MCU development project. It includes a C/C++ compiler, integrated development environment (IDE), debugger, linker, libraries and many ready-to-use board-support packages (BSPs) for TI boards and kits. ThunderBench is supported by Emprog's experienced and highly qualified technical support team and network of distributors.

"We are happy to see added support from Emprog for the Tiva C Series MCUs," said Joe Folkens, product manager, Tiva C Series MCUs, TI. "Emprog ThunderBench for ARM Cortex-M4 will be beneficial to a wide range of our potential customers."

In addition, Emprog added that ThunderBench for TI Tiva C Series provides highly optimized compilation and build tools with debugging using several debug protocols, including TI-ICDI and analysis possibilities, such as complex structure breakpoints, stack performance report, software tracing and many more.

"The Tiva C Series MCU featured in the Tiva C Series DK-TM4C129x Development Kit is a versatile and feature-rich engineering platform highlighting 120-MHz ARM Cortex-M4 core and offering several connectivity options," said Dan Augustine, Marketing Manager at Emprog. "Supporting the new Tiva TM4C129x MCU with its onboard TI- ICDI is sure to strengthen Emprog ThunderBench as an innovative development tool suite offering in the embedded market and its out- of-the-box experience."

ThunderBench for ARM/Cortex is an integrated tool that combines a C/C++ compiler, a debugger and an IDE within the Eclipse platform supporting any 32-bit ARM/Cortex device, Emprog said. The integration and the fine crafting of the Eclipse platform offered by Emprog ThunderBench not only remove the age-old gap between 'proprietary' and 'open technology' tools; it goes far beyond. With the introduction of project creation wizards and ThunderCloud for up- to-date BSPs, Emprog ThunderBench is second to none in offering complete 'out of the box' development solutions for embedded systems.

Emprog is a provider of enhanced integration of standard development tools for embedded programming.
