Singapore's bank lending increased 1.5% m/m in December

Singapore's bank lending increased 1.5% m/m recording SGD 574.2bn in December last year, while it increased 17% for the entire last year. According to the Monetary Authority of Singapore , the increases in loans were registered in general commerce, transport storage and communication, business services and financial institutions. The loans to business expanded 2.3% posting SGD 349.2bn during the period as compared to previous month, while consumer loans accelerated 0.3% m/m registering SGD 225bn , whereas housing and bridging loans increased 0.4% recording SGD 166.5bn .
