PM briefs IMF official on Jordan's reform program

Amman , Feb. 3 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour reviewed with the Director of the International Monetary Fund , IMF's Middle East and Central Asia Department , Masood Ahmad , on Monday the economic reforms that have been implemented by the government aimed at reducing the general debt, increasing growth and creating job opportunities for Jordanians. At the meeting, which was attended by Finance Minister Umayyah Touqan, Ensour stressed the government's keenness to continue dialogue to carry out the national economic reform program. He also spoke about the repercussions of regional developments on Jordan , mainly waves of forced migrations that reflected negatively on the Kingdom's economy. The IMF official voiced admiration of Jordan's economic reforms despite regional developments and burden being shouldered by Jordan as a result of that. //Petra// ON 3/2/2014 - 04:09:01 PM
