Hudbay Completes $173 Million Equity Financing

(TSX: HBM) (NYSE: HBM) announced today the closing of its previously announced equity offering of 20,930,000 common shares of the company at a price of C$8.25 per Share, which included the exercise in full of the over-allotment option granted to the underwriters, for gross proceeds of C$172,672,500 . The company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes, including providing the company the flexibility to pursue opportunities to advance its growth strategy. The Shares were offered by way of a short form prospectus filed in all of the provinces and territories of Canada pursuant to National Instrument 44-101 - Short Form Prospectus Distributions and in the United States on a private placement basis pursuant to an exemption from the registration requirements of the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the 'U.S. Securities Act').
