Release date- 26022014 - RBS's interest rate strategy team has been named the best in Europe in an annual survey carried out by Institutional Investor.
The seven-strong team, led by Andrew Roberts and Harvinder Sian, came top in its sector in the All-Europe Fixed Income Research Team survey, the annual ranking of the region's best credit analysts and strategists by business publisher Institutional Investor. The team had been ranked in second place for the previous two years.

Alberto Gallo, Head of European Macro Credit Research, and his team were voted second in the investment grade strategy sector in the same survey, which reflects the views of more than 740 portfolio managers and analysts at 386 institutions worldwide.
Gallo's team was also runner up in the high yield strategy category, while Roberts and Sian's team were runners up in general strategy. The team led by Ross Walker and Richard Barwell was runner-up in the economics category.
Institutional Investor sent questionnaires to bond and credit specialists at leading money management firms worldwide, and respondents voted for teams or individual analysts. A score was calculated for each firm by weighting votes based on European fixed income assets under management.
