BRIEF: Stock market up one hour into trading

Feb. 28--BUCHAREST -- The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened its Friday session higher; the BET-C composite index advanced 0.52 percent one hour into the trading.

The BET-FI index of the financial investment companies (SIF) gained 0.75 percent, and the main index BET reflecting the evolution of the 10 most liquid issuers went up 0.57 percent.

Meanwhile, the Romanian traded index ROTX posted a 1.12 percent decline; the extended blue-chip index of the 25 most liquid shares BET-XT advanced 0.50 percent, and the BET-NG index of the companies in the energy industry and public utilities sector rose 0.87 percent.

On the other hand, the BET-BK benchmark index reflecting the yield of investment funds inched down 0.05 percent over the first hour of trading.

The most liquid shares were Proprietatea Fund, SIF3 Transilvania, and Cemacon Cluj-Napoca.

The trading volume for the first hour of the session was 732,000 euros.
