Israel : ISRAEL concludes tests on airline DEFENSE system from missile attacks

Israel s defense ministry announced that it has fortunately finished ultimate testing on a system that protects commercial planes from missile attacks.

On 26th February, Eitan Eshel, head of research and growth at the ministry, that testing of the Sky Shield system was 100 percent successful.

The system incorporates laser technology with a thermal camera to protect aircraft against missiles fired from the ground.

In 2002, Islamic militants fired two surface-to-air missiles at an Israeli charter plane shortly after takeoff in Mombasa, Kenya, and the missiles missed their aim but urged an Israeli effort to improve countermeasures.
