FINANCE MINISTRY: WAYS OF UNEMPLOYMENT OVERCOME SET BY GEORGIA'S DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY CORRESPOND TO PROBLEMS OUTLINED IN THE WORLD BANK REPORT

Today, presentation of the World Bank's report "The Increase of Jobs in Europe and Central Asia Region" was held in Tbilisi.

While commenting this event, Georgia'sFinance Ministry declared that ways of unemployment overcome, set by Georgia's socio-economic development strategy, correspond to problems outlined in the World Bank report.

The World Bank report highlights that high economic growth of past decade was not adequately reflected on creation of new jobs in some countries of Europe and Central Asia. Authorities' objective is to achieve such economic growth, which will promote creation of new and better jobs, the document points.

In this term, the Ministry pointed that the strategy stresses insignificant role of economic growth during last decade from the point of view of employment and outlines those measures, which are necessary to create new and productive jobs in Georgia.
