BRIEF: Mortgage rates rise slightly

Feb. 27--Average mortgage rates continued to inch up slowly for the fourth consecutive week, according to Freddie Mac's weekly survey, released Thursday.

On a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage, the average interest rate was 4.37 percent. That compares with 4.33 percent last week and 3.51 percent last year at this time.

The average rate on a 15-year, fixed-rate mortgage was 3.39 percent, compared with 3.35 percent last week and 2.76 percent in the year-ago period.
