Researchers from Vienna University of Technology Detail New Studies and Findings in the Area of Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering

March 3, 2014

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Clinical Trials Week -- Investigators publish new report on Biotechnology. According to news reporting out of Vienna, Austria, by NewsRx editors, research stated, "Limitation of mobility often leads to considerable loss in quality of life. The mobile motion analysis system eSHOE represents a new method for the detection of gait parameters, in order to enable monitoring of the rehabilitation processes."

Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from the Vienna University of Technology, "The system has been tested in a pilot study at a geriatric hospital in Vienna. Autocorrelation and cross-correlation analyses proved to be suitable methods for the extraction of gait parameters from eSHOE data."

According to the news editors, the research concluded: "Based on the results a method for gait symmetry determination will be developed as a next step."
