Copper major Kazakhmys plans to decrease production of silver and copper by 30% this year. The reason is overhaul of Zhezkazgan copper plant. In 2013, the company increased production of silver by 13.5% to 14,348mn oz. Output of copper in concentrate increased by 3.3% y/y to 316.2thsd tonnes.

Kazakhmys is the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan and one of the leaders in this sector in the world. The company trades its shares on the local stock exchange KASE and on the LSE. It is part of FTSE-100 index.
