Chester, PA (PRWEB) February 26, 2014
Pierce County Library, headquartered in Tacoma, Wash., acquired 16 new Bilingual Spanish Early Literacy Station™ computers from AWE for its 18-branch library system. The library traded in older Early Literacy Stations as part of AWE’s Trade-In Program for units that are outside of warranty. AWE is running a special through March that includes an increased trade-in credit amount.
The Early Literacy Station is a computer system designed for children approximately 2-8 years old. It contains more than 60 pre-loaded educational software programs that include a mix of Spanish-language, English-language, and bilingual activities.
The Early Literacy Station offers children a safe, stand-alone touchscreen computer that does not require an Internet connection. Content spans all curriculum areas (reading, language arts, math, science, STEM, social studies, writing, graphic arts, typing, music, and more) and aligns with Common Core standards. It also features a host of administrative features including timed sessions and use tracking.
“Early Literacy Stations have been a hit with children and families from day one,” said Judy Nelson, Pierce County Library Customer Experience Manager for Youth and Outreach. “We took advantage of AWE’s trade-in program to bring the brand new version into our libraries.”
AWE's Trade-In Program enables customers to get new Early Literacy Station computers at a special rate while also ensuring older, out-of-warranty units are properly recycled.
The Early Literacy Station, AWE’s flagship product, is found in 40 percent of the public library systems across the United States. The Early Literacy Station is available in English, Bilingual Spanish, and Bilingual French.
