February 25, 2014

AMMAN Jordan Investment Board (JIC) acting Chief Executive Officer Awni Shdeifat on Monday discussed with Iranian ChargÉ d'Affaires in Amman Ahmad Husni investment opportunities available in Jordan to be presented to investment companies in Iran.

At the meeting, Shdeifat highlighted services provided by the JIC for investors, including preliminary feasibility studies that would help them take sound investment decisions and obtain required approvals from the concerned authorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He added that the board also follows up on investors after establishing their ventures to help them overcome challenges that might arise.

He said Iranian investments are welcome in all sectors.

For his part, Husni commended Jordan's success in creating a compelling investment environment, thanks to its security, and political and economic stability.

He also praised the comprehensive reform process the Kingdom has embarked on, adding that Iranian companies are seeking to invest in Jordan with the help of the JIC, according to Petra.

Jordan-Iran ties have seen improvement lately. His Majesty King Abdullah sent a verbal message last week to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, delivered by House Speaker Atef Tarawneh.

Rouhani said that Tehran is "determined to developing bilateral ties with Jordan and improving economic and cultural relations between the two countries".
