BRIEF: Low-interest loans for drought effects

Feb. 25--Small, nonfarm businesses in San Joaquin County affected by the ongoing drought are among those eligible for low-interest disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Included are businesses directly affected by the drought since Jan. 1 and those dependent on farmers and ranchers affected by the drought.

They may receive Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to

$2 million, based on the financial impact of the drought.

The application deadline is Sept. 15. Applicants can apply online at disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
