Common Baseboard Weaknesses Subject of RSA 2014 Presentation
SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Large data centers typically found at corporations or cloud-hosting
companies could fall victim to weaknesses in their command and control
systems, says Digital
Defense, Inc. (DDI).
At the center of the issue are baseboard control systems that are found
in most data center installations that might allow attackers to bypass
common security controls to obtain unfettered access to valuable data.
DDI’s chief security architect Michael Cotton is scheduled to present
these findings to attendees of RSA USA Conference 2014 in a session
titled, Hijacking the Cloud: Systematic Risk in Datacenter Management
Networks. There, he’ll discuss the weaknesses in large data center
management systems, the risks they introduce to enterprises and
organizations and how network administrators can prevent such attacks.
